Benthomaar
King Benthomaar (often called Bentho for short) is the current Merlopian ruler of Merlopia and the Endless Sea , Trimaar 's adopted son and Kalmaar 's adoptive brother. As a child, he was adopted by King Trimaar of Merlopia, becoming the adoptive brother of Prince Kalmaar. Despite Benthomaar's attempts to be accepted by Kalmaar, the latter always rejected him. Years later, when Kalmaar actively began his plan to awaken the sea serpent Wojira , the Ninja visited Merlopia and learned of Kalmaar's plan. After Kalmaar kidnapped Nya and Maya to get the location of the Storm Amulet , Trimaar confronted Kalmaar about his actions, which led him to shoot him with his trident and mortally wound him. Benthomaar saw his father die in his arms, and decided, following his father's last words, to help the Ninja escape the Merlopian guards and stop Kalmaar. Upon joining the Ninja, they traveled to find the Storm Amulet before Kalmaar did, which they seemingly succeeded at. However, they were fooled and Kalmaar swapped the Amulet with a fake one, allowing him to finally awaken Wojira, who brought destruction to Ninjago City. Confronting his brother one last time, he finally disowned him and broke his trident , causing him to lose control of Wojira and get eaten by her. After Nya merged with the Endless Sea and defeated Wojira, Benthomaar was present at her memorial. . After returning to Merlopi
